Oprah Has Fallen Off the Food Wagon

Having packed 40 pounds onto her former 160-pound self,  Oprah Winfrey is declaring,

“I’m mad at myself.   ”I’ve fallen off the wagon.”

Oprah wrote this in her O Magazine and provided an advance copy to the Associated Press.

She admits to tipping the scale at the dreaded 2-0-0.  Ouch!!

Oprah intends to address the issue on The Oprah Winfrey Show, which will kick off “Best Life Week” Jan. 5.

Dieting is never fun.  Getting frustrated is another obstacle to dieting – then put in the thyroid condition and that really adds problems.  Luckily, Oprah has a personal chef, a personal weight trainer and a stylist on her side.  We should all be that fortunate.

“I’m embarrassed … I can’t believe that after all these years, all the things I know how to do, I’m still talking about my weight. I look at my thinner self and think, ‘How did I let this happen again?’ ”

Her thyroid was out-of-balance and that gave her:
“a fear of working out.  I was so frustrated I started eating whatever I wanted – and that’s never good.”

Natalie Portman is Single Again

According to In Touch Weekly, Natalie Portman and her musician boyfriend, Devendra Banhart have split up.

I am not surprised – I haven’t seen them photographed together in a while.  I guess now it’s just official.

 The couple met and fell in love when Natalie  filmed a role in Devendra’s music video, “Carmensita,” in March.

Natalie, who was born in  New York, even moved to LA to be closer to the folk singer.   I always thought they looked like a bit of a mismatch.  I picture Natalie with more of a clean cut, preppy type.  What do you think??  Who do you see Natalie Portman dating?

Jay to Stay!!

Jay Leno is staying!! Yes – he is not leaving NBC. Instead he is going to be on NBC at 10PM, 5 nights a week.  He is going to be in the ER prime time slot.

This is revolutionary. Hour long dramas are expensive, costing as much as $3 million to produce.  With cable, the internet and the battered economy – advertising revenue is just not there.

Jay is estimated to be making $30 million per year.

How does this affect Conan O’Brien – who is set to replace Jay Leno in the 11:30PM time slot??  Conan is going to have to figure out he can differentiate himself but should be breathing a sigh of relief since he won’t be competing against Jay Leno.  He’ll just be following him.

What do you think of Jay Leno at 10 o’clock?? I will actually be awake to see it.

Taylor Swift and The Jonas Brothers Back Together??

Yes – it is true.  Taylor Swift and the Jonas Brothers are back together.  Before you get excited – its on stage only.  NBC announced that Taylor Swift is the newest addition to Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve Celebration.

Taylor Swift will join country singer Kellie Pickler, The Jonas Brothers and Lionel Richie in New York City’s Times Square with host Ryan Seacrest and Dick Clark. Fergie will host the party in L.A. with Jesse McCartney, Natasha Bedengfield, Fall Out Boy and many others.

It should be interesting to see if Taylor and Joe Jonas mingle at all.  What do you think – will they be able to get along just for the evening or we get to see some drama unfold??

Amanda Bynes and Doug Reinhardt Are a Couple

I haven’t seen Amanda Bynes with a boyfriend – ever.  I still look at her as the young teenager from the Amanda Bynes show.

The rumor mill has it  that she has been seen out and about with Doug Reinhardt (of The Hills fame).  They have been seen out on the town at a club and a basketball game.  They have also been making their affection clear with their arms around each other, gazing into each others eyes.

Doug briefly dated Lauren Conrad and Stephanie Pratt of the Hills.

It’s hard seeing young Hollywood grow up – it just shows that I’m getting old too!!

Does Whitney Port Really Work on Her New Show The City??

The question of the day is “Does Whitney Port (former Hills co-star – current star of The City) really work on her reality series, The City, or is it just an act??

So much for reality.  According to the Fashionista, they spoke to an anonymous source who claims that Whitney really does not work.  Here is some of the conversation:

The Fashionista: “No, but I think Whitney actually does work at DVF. People saw her at the DVF show in September, like organizing models backstage with a clipboard.”

Girl: “Hm, weird, because she kind of doesn’t.”

The Fashionista: “Hm?”

Girl: “Well, she just goes into the office to shoot scenes like she works there, like what they did on The Hills. Actually, it’s kind of sad. When they film her spots, they make the girls that actually work there move from their desks and into some cubicles in another part of the floor, because they’re actually working, but the camera people want Whitney and her on-screen work friend to look like they have real desks.”

The Fashionista: “They make the people who really work there give up their desks in the middle of the day so The City can shoot?”

Girl: “Yeah. And when the scenes are done, Whitney leaves. She doesn’t really work there.”

Lindsay Lohan’s Leggings Are Hot!!

I have to admit – when I 1st heard that Lindsay Lohan was coming out with her own line of leggings my first thought was, “Who would buy that?”

I was wrong – and so were a lot of other skeptics.  Apparently Lindsay’s legging line, 6126, is hot - recession proof and flying off the shelves.  They are flying off the shelves -at Henri Bendel, Nordstrom, Intermix, and Lisa Kline.  The leggings range in price from $44 – $132.  Not cheap!!

 Her hottest seller? The Mr. President legging, $132, that comes complete with quilted knee pads.

 The legging designer is planning on producing four collections a year and hopes to add more products.
